Each class has a custom set of skills, which are covered under the Mechanics section. On top of that, Synergies adds 4 new classes: Necromancer, Warlock, Paladin and Tenebris. While the four core classes may seem rather limited, don’t let this fool you there is a complex set of skill points which can be distributed and allows for character customization. And forth is the Berserker, which is a hybrid warrior class that uses animal-based skills to destroy its opponents. Third is the Embermage, which is the traditional magic-using elementalist. The second is the Outlander, which is the ranged class that focuses on the use of bows and guns. First is the Engineer a heavy melee fighter that usually uses two-handed weapons and has a taste for steampunk technology. There are four core classes in TL2 (not including Synergies). Fear Tickles and her savage companion, Snuggles! Note the choice of pet doesn’t impact its abilities in any capacity, only the way it looks. There is no race selection (all characters are human), only sex, the choice of a class, and the choice of a pet (which is covered below). Players can customize the look of their characters with weapons and armor sets, engage in battle with a variety of enemies, loot an amazing amount of treasure, collect and customize their items, and continue playing after they reach the maximum level of 100 through the “New Game” (NG+) and MapWorks systems.Ĭharacter Creation is fairly basic, allowing the face, hair style, and hair color to be selected. While character creation is very simplistic, there are a wide variety of classes to choose from and they play very differently. Torchlight 2 features a wide variety of content revolving around its four acts including ice-capped mountains, forests, swamps, deserts, mechanical realms, underground caves and dungeons. Minimalistic Loot Borders/Slimmer Loot Borders : I defintely prefer this to the existing ones but I'm not sure which I prefer yet.Įxtra Chunky : More rooms/tiles added to the dungeons from one of the game designers.Sections: Home, Content, Economy, Mechanics, Gameplay, Community & Support, Technical, Conclusion, ResourcesĬharacter Creation, Classes, Story & Lore, World & Quests , NPCs, Enemies, Treasure and Maps PrettyDamage : Just an upgrade to the damage numbers look.Įnhanced Retex part A/B : Massive game look overhaul to bring the texture quality up. (Also needs to be placed above Synergies) LurkerHUD: Very nice upgrade to the UI adding an absolute ton of info on the state of your character. Unusable items are red : Just a nice visual reminder other than having a missable red x on merchants. (Just make sure you place it above Synergies) Unleash the Rainbow! : So, so many hair colours. It will also solve your issue with the spec trees I reckon. Plus it covers your respec potion without needing a separate mod for it which is handy given the weird 10 mod limit thing and it unlocks all faces for all characters helping with the customisation. SYNERGIES : serious must have in the sheer amount of STUFF it adds. Okay going from what I've downloaded so far and ignoring new classes. For example, I'm not too satisfied by how the spec trees work, but I don't know what I do want, or if there's any way to make them work better other than just not having them at all. Those are the two big things that I know I want, but I'm sure there are other mods that I wouldn't know I want until I learn about them, so anything interesting or quality-of-life would be welcome. As a tradeoff, I'm also willing for the enemy critters to be more durable as well, taking more time to kill. Not so much looking for new classes as just new looks for the existing ones.Īlso, I'm hoping for some game balance mods that will help me be more durable by default, so I have a larger margin of error to react to situations. I remember my initial desire for mods in TL2 was due to the very limited character creation cosmetic customization options, so that's a priority. I already picked up the respec potion mod, but am looking for more. Now that the Steam Workshop has TL2 mods, I figured I should ask here for some recommendations.
